Happy Birthday, Hiyoshi ^_^
Dec. 5th, 2007 12:42 amIt's December 5th, meaning it's Hiyoshi's birthday! I couldn't sleep, so I wrote a little something for his birthday. It's the only thing I have time to do, but he's my favorite, so I had to do something. If it's crappy, it's because I need to go to sleep ^_^. It's fluffy because I always torture Hiyoshi, so for his birthday I decided to be nice.

It was his birthday. It seemed like every year on his birthday it would be blistering cold outside, even during warmer years. The sky reflected the way he felt. Grey and foreboding.
He hated his birthday. His parents never made a big deal about it. Bad for discipline, or something of that nature. They would mention it, maybe, but there were usually no gifts or cake involved. Not that he needed those types of things.
But sometimes, when he was feeling unusually mushy, he would secretly wish for his mother to suprise him with a cake, or something. Or, at least, for a classmate to wish him a happy birthday.
He sighed quietly as he stared out the classroom window. It was lunch time. He didn't bring his lunch and felt no desire to purchase any food. He never had much of an appetite on his birthday.
"Hiyoshi-kun..."
Ohtori was standing in front of his desk.
"Oh...Ohtori-kun...can I help you?"
Ohtori smiled. "Mukahi-senpai wanted me to fetch you. He said he had something he wanted to talk to you about."
Hiyoshi stood up, scratching his head. "Where is he?"
"In the third-years' hallway, by the staircase."
Hiyoshi smirked. "And why exactly were you there?"
Ohtori blushed, stuttering "Well...I...I..." It was quite obvious to everyone in their class that Ohtori ate lunch with Shishido everyday.
Hiyoshi headed up the stairs to the third-year hallway. He saw Gakuto and started talking before he reached him.
"Mukahi-senpai, what could be so important that you needed to call me out like this?"
"Like you were busy," Gakuto scoffed as Hiyoshi reached him. "Probably staring out the window, like usual."
"Even so," Hiyoshi said, feeling a little insulted. "What do you need?"
Gakuto took Hiyoshi's hand and placed a slip of paper in it.
"What is this?" Hiyoshi questioned. It was a coupon for 30000 yen at the tennis shop he frequents.
"What does it look like? It's a birthday gift." Gakuto was avoiding eye contact. Hiyoshi stood there, speechless.
Gakuto snapped his eyes back to Hiyoshi. His eyes were soft, he was smiling softly. "Happy Birthday."
Hiyoshi felt a smile pulling it's way on his lips. "I...I don't know what to say...thank you..."
"Don't go all sappy on me now! I'm not the only one who got you something, you know!" Gakuto's face was red with embarrassment.
"You're not?"
"No, Atobe told me to drag you to the clubhouse after school. All the regulars are going to be there."
Hiyoshi was stricken. It was the first time anyone had actually gone out of the way for his birthday.
"Then...why did you give this to me now?"
Gakuto's face turned even redder. "I wanted it to be special, okay?"
Hiyoshi's small smile turned to a happy grin. "Mukahi-senpai..."
Gakuto stomped his foot. "I told you to get all mushy. Keep it up and I won't give you your other gift!"
"My...other gift?"
Gakuto smirked. "Ah, hell...it IS your birthday." Gakuto grabbed Hiyoshi's tie, pulling him into a chaste kiss.
After they parted, Hiyoshi stared at Gakuto like a deer caught in headlights.
"Happy Birthday, Waka-chan."
Hiyoshi smiled, despite being red in the face. Without a doubt this had to be the best birthday ever.
