So my neighbors have this young dog that their daughter brought with her when she moved back in. She's probably not even a year old, and she's most likely a German Shepard mix. Her name is Sadie.
Today we had a major thunderstorm, complete with a downpour and massive amounts of lightening. (I know it was bad because [profile] lady_jewel had to get something at her house and we nearly died driving through it, given it wasn't bad when we left). This dog is not allowed in their house and lives up on the hill in their backyard. She wasn't chained up during the storm or anything, in fact, she was outside barking.
Currently she is on my porch sleeping. I gave her some water and some meat.
This PISSES ME OFF. She is over here more than over here (and given it might be because of Pebbles, and that they like to play)But anyway, that dog should NOT be outside in this weather. AT ALL. My brother put her in OUR garage during the storm. She comes over and follows us like ....well, a lost puppy. I wish we could take her in BUT WE CAN'T.
These people need to take care of their pets, especially with the weather we've been having. Seriously, I'm going to be keeping track of how they take care of that dog. Not to mention I have a feeling that their son is hitting her. If this keeps happening, I'm going to report them. They get to sleep in a nice safe house every night, SHE DOESN'T. The least they can do is make sure she is safe.
Sorry for the rant, but she's a sweet darling of a dog, and I ca't help but feel pissed when she's taking refuge here.
I'm just mad and disappointed because I really think they are nice people, but their negligence is unexceptable.
